Gabriel Ronay

Gabriel Ronay was born in Transylvania and participated in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, which attempted to overthrow the Soviet occupation of Hungary. Ronay was later decorated by the President of Hungary for his role in the revolt (after the collapse of Communism). After the revolution, Ronay moved to London, where he studied Russian, German, Romance languages, and Finno-Ugrian philology. He conducted research on medieval topics while working for The Times and BBC and has published several books and articles on his research.
